Looks as though we are in for some no generation water for tomorrow as the schedule is showing generation stopping at midnight and then ramping up at 2:00 P.M. to a couple of units.  Our temps for this upcoming week are supposed to be dropping into the low 90’s and mid to high 80’s which should ease the power demand on the grid.  It also dosn’t hurt that as of this morning we finally hit the normal pool elevation of 654 feet above Mean Sea Level (MSL).  I was liking this weak generation we were getting as it was perfect for the terrestrial action we were getting.

Jim with Brown Trout

A fellow guide and I hit the water early this morning with hoppers ready to go.   We started with a hopper and a dropper and all the takes were on the hopper so I took off the dropper and put on another hopper.  A parachute hopper and a Daves hopper.  The action increased and for three hours we hammered fish.  The one above is the best of the morning.

Generation Forecast:

Forecasting generation usually gets me in trouble but here goes.  With no rain forecast for the next week and with the cooler day time temps and the lake level down to normal pool elevation it looks as though our prospects for some low wadeable water will be good for at least the rest of the week until later in the afternoons.  This fall is shaping up and is looking like we may have a fall with some no generation water like we’ve not had in a few years.  Last year looked a little like this as well and then we got on heck of a heavy rain in one afternoon that brought the lake up 10 feet.
