Fall Fishing~Friday Update

Rim Shoals Brown Trout

Fall fishing is upon us however it has been unseasonably warm.  Winds and a cool front also came through on Sunday and brought high winds for three days with gust up to 30 mph.  It does make sight fishing a bit tough.  Thursday saw no water until 4:00 pm and again on Sunday we had some no generation until 3:00 pm.  My apologies for such a late update but with three group trips over lapping this past weekend there was hardly much time for much else but fishing and logistics.  Many thanks to the folks who fished with Fly Fish Arkansas this past week as all the guides had much fun fishing with ya’ll.  On Friday and Saturday we had a group of gents who grew up together and went to grade school in Baton Rouge La and then on Sat and Sun we had a group of 8 buddies from OK City who flew in to fish.  Then on Sunday and Monday a repeat  group of old Air Force buddies got together and fished for a couple of days. And of course Rick from Denton Tx fished with me for 3 days.  Many thanks to the guides who helped me out.  Ron, Jeff, Kevin, Kris, and Forrest many kudos to you guys who made it so much fun for all three groups.

According to the generation schedule both dams will be generating today. The Norfork will generate with one unit and Bull Shoals will generate heavier with 3 units from 6 am till 9:00 am and then drop down and fluctuate between a unit and two units until 5:00 pm when generation will ramp up to 3 units again.

Weather:  We are under a freeze warning at this time and the temp at the airport is 33 f and 36 at my house in Bull Shoals.  Sunrise is at 7:30 and sunset is at 6:17 CDT  The moon is in the Waning Gibbous phase and we are now past a full moon.  Our highs today will be in the mid 60’s with east winds at 5 mph.  Lows tonight in the mid 30’s with south winds at 5 to 10.  Saturday should see highs in the mid 70’s with SW winds at 10 and lows in the lower 40’s.  Sunday will see highs in the lower 70’s
