The shad came through again this past Monday and Mike (Mad Dog) Davis came up from Heber Springs to fish again.  We were hoping to catch them on the top and we were not disappointed.  Shad were trickling through with some making it down to the first boat ram below the dam.  A bit of excitement ensued when a warden showed up to have a little chat with 3 boats that were bouncing lures of the concrete.  They got some pretty pink paper to adorn their wallets with color instead of the green stuff most folks like to keep there.  Good job to our local Game and Fish officers.

After the water dropped down we tied on caddis emergers and began to catch fish again.  We should be getting another good caddis hatch this year and I’m hoping it was as good as last years hatch. Caddis are already moving upstream from the confluence of the Norfork and the White.  The trans caddis emerger worked like a charm last year and we have plenty in stock.  The end of May and into June will bring the mayfly (sulpher) hatch which is better dry fly action than the caddis hatch and generally last till the end of June.  The last two years saw great hopper and cicada action so we are hoping to see lots of hoppers again this year.

Book your march fishing trip soon.  April is just about filled up but we do have guides we can hook you up with as  we use qualified guides who speak old fashioned fly speak and not the “NEW” fly “slang” that can be so offensive to many folks.  We do have lodging and fishing combos that are perfect for couples, buddy and  corporate groups.  Pick up the phone and call 870-404-8906 and book your fishing adventure today.

Stay Fishy My Friends.
