Looks like a new world record Brown Trout. The Manistee River in Michigan. 41 lbs 7 Ozs caught yesterday.
Generation last night got up to 13,000 CFS or 5 units which began to come up at 2:00 pm. It did get trashy on us at newlands hole. Generation looks similar to yesterdays. I did fish with Bruce and Derek a father and son yesterday. I also fished with them back in august. Bruce was kind in his comments he left on my blog:
My son, Derek, and I fished with Jim and landed well over 70 trout with Jim. Although we have fly fished before, we never tried to fly fish for trout. With Jim’s instructions, we were on trout all day, and had a terrific time on the water. Jim even pulled over to assist 2 different fishermen in distress. We are very fortunate to have fished with Jim and look forward to fishing with him again.
Yesterday wasn’t nearly so productive as the last time we fished together but it was fun and enjoyable to spend some time with two great gentleman who remembered everything I taught them last month. Good Job Derek and Bruce. See you next month.
D.O. is dropping has dropped just a little over the past two weeks. Not just the water coming out of the penstocks but further down into the lower part of the C&R area as well. Hopefully this year when the lake turns over it won’t be a problem. It’s generally worse on the Norfork so I’m hoping it is not a problem there either.
