A good bit of shad came through Bull Shoals Dam his morning in several burst and made it as far down as Gastons Resort (870-431-5202). Some were on the surface but the majority of them were subsurface which is how we caught them. There were too many coming through the three hours they were generating. If your over this way and going fishing on your own in your boat don’t forget to drop by the shop and pick up some of these patterns. When generation stops head down stream to get back in to the heavier flows and continue fishing. We got our brown trout further down stream at three chutes.
