Best Fishing of the year and no Crowds

Rex from KC

Last Saturday Rex and his brother David and I went fishing on the White River in North Central Arkansas.  Weather was good with a bit of wind out of the east and dropping water which with this combination usually means the catching is gonna be bad.  It didn’t seem to bother the fish.  The catching was on fire.  Lots of fish and four brown trout for the day.  We had the river pretty much to ourselves and saw only one other fly fishing guide in the stretch from the state park down to bruce creek shoals.

This past wednesday Jim B and his buddy Chris and I went fishing with more generation than the previous Saturday.  The morning started out slow but as soon as the water began to drop the fish turned on.  The stretch from Newlands hold down to Partee was the best stretch.  Jim was a bit behind in the big fish dept but soon came up with a contender to the fish Chris caught.

Now I didn’t put the de-liar to Jims fish but Chris’s fish was a solid 20 inches….  OK almost as it was short a frogs hair.  You make the call.

Looks like lots of generation on the white for this weekend but the weather is looking good with warmer temps for today and Sunday.  This is the time of the year when all the GUIDES get to go fishing.  The die hards of the fishing world who can take the cold weather and like to hook into big bad tippet breaking fish.  Wimps should stay away at this time of year.

Book early for next years fishing.

Can’t decide what to get for that outdoorsman?  Call the shop at 870-445-3848 and get him/her a gift certificate to fish on the White River in Arkansas.
