Much Lower Flows and Great Caddis Hatches

The lake level at Bull Shoals is at two units this morning and is a bit lower than this time yesterday morning with 5,474 CFS.  Bull Shoals is scheduled to run 9500 cfs or right at 4 units and will more than likely do so as the day progresses by ramping up the wheels.  We do have some rain headed our way which we could actually use as we are now pretty dry.  We just don’t need 2 inches in an hour or two.  Caddis are really hopping later in the afternoons when the air temps warm up.  Larvae and pupae drifted under an indicator or a stimulator on this two units of water is working very well at the moment.  A nice opportunity to hook one on a dry fly is always fun but the fun diminishes with more water which brings some slimy moss along with it as well.  Our weather for the weekend looks as though it will bring us some rain this afternoon through the evening and a small 20% chance for Saturday.  Highs in the upper 70’s for today and in the upper 60’s for Saturday. Sundays highs in the upper 60’s with east winds at 5 mph.  Monday will begin to warm up again with highs in the lower 70’s and partly sunny.  No rain in the forecast through next thursday.
