UPDATE: Tuesday Report

UPDATE: Thursday Morning.   Guided a gentleman from AZ ( Dick) on Tuesday.  The morning was cool and windy but heated up after lunch and the wind died down for us a bit as well.    Generation was shut down at 11:00 am and we got to sight fish at the dam.  Not very crowed that afternoon.  Caddis were dancing around and a few takes on the surface.  The planarian was the best fly of the afternoon for us.  I turned over some rocks to find out what was prolific.  Other than scud and a few sow bugs the planarian were clinging to the rocks and the fish seemed to prefer them.  Midges on higher water in the morning along with sow bugs were the ticket to a successful morning of fishing.

I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I checked out the generation schedule for the White River here in Arkansas and saw that Bull Shoals Dam was scheduled to be shut down some for today.  Then I checked the flow charts and I believed it when I saw 0000’s for the CFS.  Generation was shut down at midnight last night.  Generation is scheduled to begin again at 6:00 am and end again at 11:00 am when it is scheduled to be shut off again until 5:00 pm this afternoon.  The Norfork is scheduled to be shut off until 4:00 pm this afternoon.  The lake level has risen slightly and is up to 656.85 as of 3:00 am this morning.  At this point in time I’d sure hate to try and predict through the weekend what the C.O.E. and S.W.P.A is going to do with generation.  The lake is almost three feet above normal pool and with this shut down will surely rise a bit more.  When it does come back on it will begin with 100 MW and then go to 200 MW and then back down to 100 MW for a couple of hours when it will be shut off again.
