Generation~Fly Shop News~Fishing Reports

The past few days we’ve been getting pretty wet around here.  It started out with some pop up storms that would fade away about as quick as they formed and we here in Bull Shoals found ourselves wishing for some of that rain.  Gotta be careful what one wishes for because it’s pretty much rained for two days.  We really did need some moisture in the ground though.  This rain did bring the lake up just a bit but it was quickly brought down with some heavy generation of 8 units yesterday and 7  today.  The predicted generation for this weekend is as follows:  Saturdays generation is for 250 MW which is roughly 5 1/2 units of water or 15,ooo CFS.  Sundays generation schedule is for about a half a unit and on Monday it looks as though we’ll be back to the schedule we had this past week which is for no generation till around noon.

Fly Shop News:

Tungsten Beads

A new shipment of tungsten beads have arrived in the shop with all colors and sizes in stock.  The dry fly floatant Muclin is on order and should be in the shop within a few days.  If you have not used this product drop by and pick some up for your hoppers and other drys.  Greys rods have been moving well and another order of ten foot Stream Flex rods in #3 & #4 will also be in by the middle of this coming week.  Another order of Tiemco hooks has also come in and we have bulked up on the TMC 2499 SP BL hooks in the 100 count boxes.  You’ll like the price on these popular and well made hooks.  Chota boots and waders are also in stock as well as a wader out of Nevada that is really good looking and very affordable at $129.00

Fishing News:

Sulphers as well as caddis continue to hatch on the upper end of the White River.  Drys as well as emergers are some go to patterns for sure.  Hoppers on low water as well as stimulators with tungsten bead droppers are a killer way to hook into a lot of fish.  Today I did get reports of fishers coming into the shop that the catching was a bit slow in the mornings but pick up as the day wore on and the fog lifted.
